The fall of Eedrasil

With the corruption of Ghor spreading a cry for help came from the creatures of Eonil. Ee’dornil emissaries were send to the Xaverion Islands, Estonya, Maycia and the Dwarven lands. All but the dwarven lands answered the call. At this point it seemed that all contact with the dwarven lands was lost. There was a corruption spreading amongst the followers of Eonil, those who survived had gone mad, only strengthening Ghor’s minions. The Ee’dornil were desperate to find a cure and their people were spread thin when reports started coming from a huge fight on Eedrasil. The mighty tree was seen by many as the source of power of Eonil herself and now it seemed that Ghor made an attempt to claim it for their own.

Arilya was the name of the emissary the Ee’dornil send to the Xavenrion Islands. Because the Ee’dornil had helped the Xaverion Island with Quintra’s Onslaught they were all willing to fight and they lead them to Eedrasil via the Waygate. On several places small armies gathered at the waygates but before they could even go through creatures suddenly started emerging from the waygates to blindly attack everyone. In the end the armies had no choice but to destroy the waygates themselves to stop the endless stream of creatures coming through. This meant that there was no one coming to aid the Ee’dornil at Eedrasil.

One faithful night witnesses had seen a very bright flare coming from the sky in the middle of the night, it was followed by a deafening sound that was heard over most of the Xaverion Islands. After that all western located islands were tormented by floods and tidal waves of hours. In the morning everything was quiet as a huge fog had spread over half of the Xaverion Islands. It took days for the fog to clear and when it did Eedrasil was gone.

The island that Eedrasil had stood on was mostly flooded and only a crescent moon form remained with the remains of the once great tree. From this however a small forest of sproutlings had sprouted from the bark and the roots of Eedrasil. The island was then named Eedrasil’s rest, yet another scar on the face of Eonil caused by Ghor’s minions.

Behind Eedrasil’s rest the other islands that once were there seemed to have vanished and from its shore you could already see the thick fog looming over the sea. The whole continent that lay west of the Xaverion Islands was gone. And so it was called the Lost Continent.
