When this race of human and animal hybrids came to be is unclear and their exact purpose of creation is also up for debate. It is commonly thought however that they were meant to form a bridge between the animal and the followers of Quintra. It is common knowledge that it was the goddess of light that created them as the Denday’s counterpart seems to be the Orcs. A popular theory is that they were created around the same time as the Ee’dornil, quiet possibly even to match the Ee’dornil’s rumored mixed blood. Some even speculate that Oakhai are the human versions of the Night Dwellers that later became the Ee’dornil.
Oakhai are typically humans with animal ears and tails. Most but not all have fangs as well. Nowadays there aren’t enough Oakhai left for them to have settlements of their own. They mostly live among humans and are accepted by humans as their equals.
Less commonly known are the Oakhai that are considered to be more animal then human. Essentially they seem to be animals who have taken on more human features like walking on two legs, having more hands then front paws and having the ability to speak. Some might refer to them as furries but not all of these type of Oakhai like to be called a furry. While the more human Oakhai commonly live among Xaverion settlements, especially those that are mostly human, this type of Oakhai more commonly have their own little hidden communities. Little is known about the places where this type of Oakhai roam so most of the things you may hear about this is just rumors and speculation.
